Welcome to the Walsall Virtual School
I am delighted to welcome you to our website and to introduce the work of the Walsall Virtual School.
Our vision is simple: we want every child and young person we support to have the opportunity to achieve, thrive and succeed, whatever their starting point or circumstances. We are ambitious for every child and work alongside schools, families, carers and professionals to ensure they receive the education, support and opportunities they deserve.
The role of the Virtual School has grown significantly over recent years. While we continue to champion the education of children in care, we also work to improve outcomes for previously looked after children, children with a social worker, children in kinship care, care leavers and children involved with youth justice. We recognise that every child's journey is unique and our support reflects their individual needs, strengths and aspirations.
Education changes lives. It provides stability, builds confidence, opens doors and creates opportunities for the future. Our dedicated team works closely with schools and partners to remove barriers to learning, improve attendance, raise achievement, support emotional wellbeing and ensure children experience a sense of belonging in their education.
Alongside our statutory responsibilities, we are committed to providing opportunities that inspire children and young people beyond the classroom. Through enrichment activities, cultural experiences, mentoring, careers guidance and celebration events, we aim to raise aspirations, build confidence and help every child discover what they are capable of achieving.
This website has been designed to provide useful information for children and young people, families, carers, schools and professionals. Whether you are looking for guidance, resources, training, information about our services or details of the support available, we hope you will find everything you need here.
