Welcome to Our Carers' Hub
Supporting you to support the children in your care
At Walsall Virtual School, we know that carers play a vital role in children's education. Your encouragement, understanding and support can make an enormous difference to a child's confidence, wellbeing and achievements.
Whether you are a parent, foster carer, kinship carer, special guardian or adoptive parent, we want you to feel informed, confident and supported in helping your child get the most from their education.
Our Carers' Hub brings together practical advice, helpful resources, training opportunities and information about the support available through Walsall Virtual School.
We recognise that every child's journey is different. Some children may need additional help with learning, friendships, attendance or emotional wellbeing. Others may need support during school transitions or encouragement to explore new experiences and opportunities.
Whatever your child's circumstances, we believe that every child deserves to feel safe, valued and included, and to have the same opportunities and aspirations as their peers.

Working Together for Your Child
We believe that children achieve their best when schools, carers, social workers and other professionals work together.
Your knowledge of your child matters. You understand their strengths, interests, worries and achievements, and your views should be valued when decisions are made about their education.
We encourage carers to take an active role in school life, celebrate children's successes and seek help early when difficulties arise.
Need Help or Advice?
If you have concerns about your child's education, we encourage you to speak with their designated teacher or school in the first instance.
For children in care, you can also contact their social worker and Walsall Virtual School.
Kinship carers, special guardians and parents of previously looked-after children can contact the Virtual School for education advice and information.
